“…I felt it was the first time in my life I was genuinely being listened to and not just blamed or judged for being overweight.”
Sarah K., Trustpilot review, April 2026

How MagDI works

1 · No cutting, no staples

You swallow one small magnet. While you're asleep, Dr Loy places a second one close by, and the two click together. Nothing is cut away or stapled.

Why MagDI is different

Diets

Your body fights back with hunger, and the weight creeps back.

Weight loss medication

Works while you take it. Stop, and the hunger returns, and the side effects and monthly cost add up.

A gastric bypass

Proven and lasting. It uses staples, and recovery takes about two weeks.

Worried about something? Most people are.

“Is it safe?”
Dr John Loy

MagDI is authorised by the US FDA and Health Canada, and CE marked in Europe. Dr Loy, who does it here, has done almost 3,000 weight loss procedures.

“What if it's not right for me later?”

It's reversible. The new path can be closed again if it's ever needed.

“I have type 2 diabetes and high blood pressure.”

That's often why people come to us. Both often ease as the weight comes off.

“I'll be judged.”

Not here. You'll be listened to, not lectured.

“Am I suitable?”

That's what your free assessment is for. Tell us if you have an MRI scan planned, because MagDI isn't done if you need one in the weeks after.

Who you'd be trusting

The first MagDI procedures in Ireland and the UK were done here in September 2026, by Dr Loy, with Prof Michel Gagner, who developed it, at his side.

Two questions we're often asked

What does MagDI cost?

Your personal price comes with your free assessment. It's one price that includes everything, with no hidden fees, and you can pay monthly.

Is MagDI a gastric bypass?

It works in a similar way, because food takes a shorter route through your gut. The difference is that the join is made by magnets, and no small stomach pouch is made.
